 About Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque

Hagia Sophia was built as a Byzantine cathedral by Emperor Justinian in 537 CE and was the largest building in the world for nearly a thousand years. After the Ottoman conquest of Constantinople in 1453, Sultan Mehmed II converted it into a mosque. It was converted to a museum by Atatürk in 1934.
