The Trust was established between 1967 and 1969 with the aim of founding a mosque in Slough. It began by buying and converting a house at the junction of Montem Lane and Arthur Road, which became the town's first mosque. In 1983 the Trust leased a plot of land on Diamond Road from Slough Borough Council, and the foundation stone for the new purpose-built mosque was laid on 8 May 1983. The Jamia Masjid Ghousia was completed in 1985, built with initial community funding and, according to the Trust, without bank loans. Today the Trust oversees two mosques — Jamia Ghousia Masjid on Diamond Road and the Montem Lane Mosque (35 Montem Lane, Slough, SL1 2QW) — along with a madrassa/education centre in the Manor Park area of Slough.
