Ayat al-Kursi — Quran 2:255
Translation (Sahih International): "Allah — there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great."
Read in full context: Surah Al-Baqarah, ayah 255
💡 Virtue: The Prophet ﷺ asked Ubayy ibn Ka'b: "Which verse in the Book of Allah is greatest?" He said Ayat al-Kursi. The Prophet ﷺ confirmed: "Congratulations on your knowledge, O Abu Mundhir." (Muslim 810). Recite after every obligatory prayer and before sleep for protection.
Why Recite Daily Adhkar?
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught his companions specific supplications for every occasion — waking, sleeping, eating, travelling, entering the home, and more. These adhkar are a form of dhikr (remembrance of Allah) that protect, purify, and draw the believer closer to Allah.
Allah says in the Quran: "Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest." (13:28)
