About Jummah Prayer

Jummah (Arabic: جُمُعَة) is the Friday congregational prayer and sermon (Khutbah). It is obligatory for Muslim men and replaces Dhuhr prayer on Fridays. The Quran commands: "O you who believe! When you are called to prayer on Friday, hasten to the remembrance of Allah and leave all business." (Quran 62:9)

Jummah consists of two Khutbahs (sermons) delivered by the Imam, followed by two Rak'ahs of congregational prayer. Times vary by mosque and season as they follow Dhuhr time. Most mosques hold one to three congregations on Fridays to accommodate large communities.
