Oldham Central Mosque & Cultural Centre

Oldham Central Mosque and Cultural Centre is the principal mosque serving Oldham's large Muslim community, established in 1974. Oldham has one of the highest proportions of Muslims in England outside the major cities, with a community rooted primarily in Pakistani and Bangladeshi families who settled to work in the cotton mills.

The mosque is located close to Oldham town centre and provides the five daily prayers, multiple Friday Jumu'ah sessions, large Eid congregations and taraweeh throughout Ramadan. It also operates as a cultural centre with Islamic education, community welfare and interfaith engagement programmes.

Oldham Central Mosque has played an important role in community cohesion, working actively with local authorities, schools and faith groups to promote understanding and integration across Oldham.
