About Nakhoda Mosque
The Nakhoda Mosque was built in 1926 by Abdur Rahim Osman, a Kutchi Memon merchant. Its design is based on the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Akbar in Sikandra, with a large central dome and minarets. The mosque can accommodate 10,000 worshippers and is the main mosque for Kolkata's Memon community.
