About Derby Jamia Mosque

Derby Jamia Mosque in Normanton is one of the principal mosques serving Derby's Muslim community, which has been established in the city since the 1950s and 1960s. The mosque was founded in 1971 in the Normanton area, which is home to the largest concentration of Derby's Muslim population.

The mosque runs the five daily prayers, Friday Jumu'ah with multiple sessions to meet demand, large Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha congregations, and taraweeh throughout Ramadan. A madrasah provides Quranic and Islamic education for children throughout the week.

Derby Jamia Mosque is an important centre for spiritual life, Islamic education and community welfare for thousands of Muslim families in Derby and the surrounding area.
