Wolverhampton Central Mosque

Wolverhampton Central Mosque on Waterloo Road is the principal mosque for Wolverhampton's large Muslim community, established in 1980. Wolverhampton has a substantial Muslim population with roots primarily in Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities who settled in the city in the 1960s and 1970s to work in its manufacturing industries.

The mosque provides the five daily prayers, multiple Friday Jumu'ah sessions, large Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha congregations, and taraweeh throughout Ramadan. It runs a madrasah and Islamic education for children, and provides pastoral care and community welfare services for Muslim families across Wolverhampton.

Wolverhampton Central Mosque is involved in interfaith dialogue and civic engagement across the city, working with local faith groups, schools and the local council.
