Pontypridd Mosque

Pontypridd Mosque is the town's first dedicated mosque, established in the converted former Treforest Gospel Hall on Broadway after a community fundraising campaign coordinated with Cardiff's Dar Ul Isra to buy the disused church building. Before it opened, the area's 200-plus Muslim residents and roughly 150 Muslim students at the University of South Wales had no permanent prayer facilities outside the university campus prayer rooms. Now operating as the "Treforest Culture Centre," it describes itself as a community centre open to all rather than solely a place of worship, offering five daily prayers alongside its wider programmes.
