History of Masjid Raya Al Mashun
Masjid Raya Al Mashun (Grand Mosque) was built in 1906 by Sultan Makmun Al Rasyid Perkasa Alamsyah of the Deli Sultanate. Its design combines Moorish, Indian, and Middle Eastern architectural elements, with an octagonal main hall topped by a large central dome flanked by four smaller domes. The mosque is considered one of the most beautiful in Indonesia and is a symbol of the city of Medan.
