About Walthamstow Mosque

Masjid-e-Umer, widely known as Walthamstow Central Mosque, has served the Muslim community of Waltham Forest since 1977 and is run by the Masjid-e-Umer Trust (registered charity, est. 2000). Its current purpose-built multi-storey building on Queens Road opened in October 2003. As the area's principal central mosque, it offers five daily prayers and Jummah alongside a madrasah, library, community/event halls, funeral (janazah) services and welfare support. It follows the Hanafi Sunni (Deobandi) tradition and is managed largely by the local Gujarati and Pakistani community.
