About Makkah Masjid (Leeds)

Makkah Masjid Leeds is one of the largest and most prominent mosques in West Yorkshire, occupying a purpose-built building in the heart of Leeds city centre since 1992. Its central location on Westgate makes it one of the most accessible mosques in the region.

The mosque serves a large and diverse Muslim community from across Leeds and the wider West Yorkshire area, hosting the five daily prayers, multiple Friday Jumu'ah sessions, Eid congregations and taraweeh throughout Ramadan. Its large capacity and central location make it a key venue for large community gatherings and special events.

Makkah Masjid Leeds also runs an Islamic school, madrasah and youth programmes, and is active in interfaith dialogue and civic engagement across the city of Leeds.
