About Islamisches Zentrum München (IZM)
The Islamic Centre Munich was established in 1958 and its mosque, completed in 1973, was one of the first purpose-built mosques in Germany. With its prominent dome and minaret, it became a landmark of the city. The centre has historically attracted prominent Islamic scholars and has played an important role in the development of Islamic intellectual life in Europe.
