About An-Nasr Mosque (Great Mosque of Nablus)
An-Nasr Mosque is the Great Mosque of Nablus and the oldest Islamic site of worship in the city. It was converted from a Crusader church — built over the ruins of a Byzantine basilica — following Saladin's liberation of Palestine in 1187 CE. The mosque retains elements of its Crusader-era architecture alongside later Islamic additions. It is the spiritual centre of Nablus's Muslim community and a symbol of the city's long Islamic history.
