Surah Al-Masad

سُورَةُ المَسَدِ

Surah Al-Masad is the 111th chapter of the Quran — 5 verses, revealed in Mecca before the Hijra (622 CE), addressing faith, Tawhid, and the Hereafter.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ تَبَّتْ يَدَآ أَبِى لَهَبٍۢ وَتَبَّ

May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he.

Juz 30

2

مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَمَا كَسَبَ

His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained.

3

سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًۭا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍۢ

He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame

Juz 30

4

وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ حَمَّالَةَ ٱلْحَطَبِ

And his wife [as well] - the carrier of firewood.

Juz 30

5

فِى جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌۭ مِّن مَّسَدٍۭ

Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber.
