Jamia Masjid Ghausia (Nelson)

Markazi Jamia Ghausia Masjid (registered with the Charity Commission as "The Nelson Masjid Committee (Ghosia Jamia Mosque)", charity no. 512891) is a mosque in the centre of Nelson, in the Pendle district of Lancashire. It occupies a block bounded by Every Street, Clayton Street and Pendle Street (BB9 7LU), serving the town's large British-Pakistani Muslim community. The mosque follows the Sunni Barelwi (Sufi) tradition.

Established mosque directories date the institution to 1964 and describe it as one of Nelson's earliest and largest mosques, with a worshipper capacity of around 1,550. As a "Markazi" (central) Jamia mosque it acts as a main congregational hub for the surrounding area, holding the five daily prayers and Friday Jummah congregations.

Alongside worship the mosque provides facilities for the community including a separate prayer area for women, wudu (ablution) facilities, wheelchair access and on-site parking. An associated madrasah operates under the Ghausia name in Nelson (a separately listed Ghausia Madrassah is recorded at Clifford House, Barkerhouse Road, BB9 9ES, which appears to be a distinct building).

The mosque maintains an official "Ghausia Masjid Nelson" presence on Facebook and Instagram and a "Ghausia Masjid" prayer-times mobile app, through which it publishes its prayer timetable.
