Levenshulme Mosque

There is no mosque officially named "Levenshulme Mosque." The principal mosque serving the Levenshulme area of south Manchester (postcode M19) is Madina Masjid, also known as Madina Masjid & Levenshulme Islamic Centre, at 2 Barlow Road, M19 3DJ. It is run by the UK Islamic Mission (UKIM) and appears in UKIM's official branch directory as its "Manchester South" branch.

According to the mosque's own website, the organisation was established in the late 1980s. It serves as a place for the five daily prayers, Friday (Jummah), Eid and Taraweeh prayers, and also operates as a community centre for the local Muslim community.

Beyond worship, the mosque offers an evening madrassa, adult Islamic education and study circles, women's activities, youth engagement programmes, elderly care, a marriage bureau, charitable fundraising and interfaith dialogue work. As a UKIM mosque it follows mainstream Sunni Islam within the UK Islamic Mission tradition; some directories note a "Maudoodi"/Jamaat-e-Islami-linked affiliation, reflecting UKIM's heritage.

Note: this entry should not be confused with the separately registered "Madina Masjid" charity in Wakefield (a different organisation), nor with other mosques in Levenshulme such as Al-Masjid al-Nur (a Shia/Bohra mosque on Woodfold Avenue, M19 3AP).
